Current Projects

February, 2012 : : Arthon has been awarded a significant multi-year contract for earth moving and mine development at The Huckleberry Mine, near Houston, B.C., a mine owned by Imperial Metals. Arthon Contractors Inc. Joint Ventured with Belvedere Place Contracting Ltd. and was awarded this multi-year $40Million+ contract to complete Earth Moving, Tailings Dam Construction, and various Works at the Huckleberry Mine Site starting April 2012 with a completion in 2013/14.

July 2011 - Arthon Industries Ltd. (AIL) and Coalmont Energy Corporation (CEC), a wholly owned subsidiary of AIL, congratulate Coalmont, B.C. on its Centennial Year. CEC will be developing the coalmont coal mine, high on the mountain above Coalmont, B.C. We had a wonderful visit and outdoor dinner with 100+ locals and 'old-timers' in Coalmont on Saturday, July 09.

June 16, 2011 Arthon Contractors is low bidder ($18Million) on MoTI Project No. 22546-0000 : HWY 1 CLANWILLIAM Overhead No. 0354 Replacement - Highway No. 1 approximately 11 kilometres west of Revelstoke. The project starts approximately 700 metres west of the existing Clanwilliam Overhead No. 0354 and continues eastward from the structure for approximately 1.9 kilometres.

On-Going - Arthon Industries Limited continues work and aggregate plant operation at Kitimat Sandhill Project. This major project is owned by Sandhill Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Arthon and is a major supplier to industrial projects in the Kitimat corridor.

June 3, 2011- Name change : Arthon Industries Limited is our new corporate name, previously 'Arthon Construction Ltd.'   The new name avoids confusion with the operating arm of the company - Arthon Contractors Inc.
 

Arthon's Recent Projects

May, 2011 Arthon Contractors is low bidder on Intersection Improvements at Bailey Road, Vernon on Highway #97. Minor delays can be expected. Closures will occur for blasting. First blast was May 18 ... resulting in only a 10 minute closure.

• June 2010
  IDL Projects Inc. awarded Arthon Contractors Inc. a $7+ MM contract to complete haul road construction from the Western Coal Corp.'s mine southwest of Chetwynd B.C. to Rail line. The project involves construction of new forest haul roads totalling some 20+ km. At the same time, two other contractors are engaged to complete the entire length of haul road. The full route consists of roughly 22.1 km of new construction and upgrades to 38 km of existing roads for a total length of about 60 km.

• February, 2008
  Arthon has begun the construction of 4 lanes along Okanagan Highway 97 above Lake Okanagan in Summerland with over 1,000,000 m³ of rock cuts and 700,000 m³ of earth moving. This $38.6 Million contract is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2009.

• March 2007:
  Arthon Contractors Inc. begins grading and site work for the UBC Okanagan Flyover and Roadworks. A new bridge over Highway #97 will improve access into the University campus. Additional internal roadworks and access routes will be added in this joint project of UBCO, City of Kelowna, and the B.C. MoT.

• November 2006Arthon begins ground work and aggregate plant setup at Kitimat Sandhill Project. This major project is owned by Sandhill Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Arthon.

• June 2006
  Arthon begins $9.9MM Lake Louise / Banff Trans Canada Highway Twinning project - Second Phase of final grading, paving, and animal structures.

• February, 2006
  Arthon Industries Limited has begun the construction of roadworks for a rural subdivision - Cascade Ridge on Pattison Creek in Mission, B.C. Over 25,000 m³ of material is to be moved to accommodate 11 new One Hectare residential lots.

• August, 2007
  Arthon began the construction of roadworks, grading, and underground services for the The Ponds residential subdivision in Kelowna. More information on this prestigious neighbourhood can be found at www.theponds.ca

• March, 2007
  Arthon has begun the construction of earth embankments for the Flyover Bridge over Highway 97 in Kelowna at the UBC Okanagan campus with associated roadworks. Construction of internal roadways and ramps on & off Hwy 97 are included in this $6.8 MM contract.

• November, 2006
  Arthon has begun rock blasting and hauling of material - to be used in the continuing additions to the Trans Canada Highway.

• October, 2005
  Arthon has just begun the Twinning of the TransCanada Highway through Banff National Park between Lake Louise and Banff, in Alberta. Over 300,000 m³ of material will be moved to accommodate future contracts for road base and paving.

• March, 2005
  Arthon completed the Westside Road Realignment and Okanagan Bridge Approach preload project in Kelowna in October, 2005. Over 100,000 m³ of rock was moved from Westside Road to a processing area for eventual use as preload for the west and east approaches for the new Okanagan Bridge expansion.
