ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

Greetings

In the following week, Mon. April 28 thru Sat May 03, Highway 97 
road closures north of Summerland will continue to include a 1 HOUR 
closure at 1 pm each weekday.  Saturday, April 26 will see a one time
short closure just after 11 am.

PLEASE NOTE :
THE HIGHWAY IS NOW A DESIGNATED 70 km/hr CONSTRUCTION SPEED ZONE.


30 MINUTE closure :

Mon April 28 --> Sat May 03  @ 10:00 am  (Sunday EXCLUDED)


1 HOUR closure :

Mon April 28 --> Fri May 02  @ 1:00 pm  (Sat. & Sun EXCLUDED)


We are now pioneering haul routes across rock cuts, high above the 
roadway, and require road closures to ensure safe conditions on the 
highway (rock fall). Our crews will be scaling the rock faces after 
blasts and, although minimal rock may be on the roadway, we require 
time to review, inspect, and clean the rock faces above.

Also, at this time, I would like to introduce Jacqui Lloyd who has joined
the team to be the Project Public Information Officer.  Jacqui will be 
availablefor any questions and will be liaising with area residents as the 
Project moves forward.  Jacqui will be handling these email alerts in future,
and will be sending a short brief on herself with contact information
including a small PDF attachment ... so we ask you to look for that and
welcome her.

Please also note that the closure times are often for a shorter period and 
may not, in fact, occur at all, depending on drilling production on that 
day.  However, we ask that the travelling public plan for the full closure 
during the times posted.

Thank you for your continued patience.  Please obey flaggers and
reduce speeds through the Construction Zone .... our flaggers do
appreciate a smile and a wave :-)
