ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

Greetings
Arthon Contractors will have blasting underway each day at 1:30 pm only,
which will mean a daily 30 minute closure starting at 1:30pm
and commencing Tuesday, March 11, 2008.
HWY 97 CLOSURE : 1:30 pm Monday to Friday .... 30 minutes
A closure on Saturday would occur at 10 am for 30 minutes ... although
we will update on Saturday closures later this week.
Rock excavation will be focusing on the area near the larger rock formation
at the south end of the project... just north of where
the existing 4 lanes comes out of Summerland.
When blasts increase in size, or are closer to the existing highway,
the closure time will move to 1pm and may entail up to 60 minutes closure
due to greater rock clean-up requirements.
In addition to the above full closures, delays up to 5 minutes may occur
at any time between 08:30 am and 3:30 pm. Monday to Saturday.
There have been extensive discussions and protocols review with the Ministries
of Transportation and Environment, and with Arthon, regarding the interface
with the existing mountain goat population. Measures are being taken
with full consideration of their locations and the coming kidding season.
Our refining of the closure information and the blasting schedules has arisen
with this in mind.
We will update this list as changes or new information comes available.
